“Higher, Higher” is the product of one of the October 2010 Monthly Muses Themed Galleries. This particular prompt was “Higher and Higher.”
The first thing that came to my mind was an angel and the rest pretty much flowed from there. The moon on her clothing and in the background was a complete accident, but I love how it turned out.
Sometimes the most beautiful things in life happen by accident…

Virtues are very important to me. As part of my Earth-based training, we had to pick a number of virtues that spoke to us. That is where the idea for this collection came from.
You may not think that a sense of adventure is a virtue, but it is. It is about trekking to places that others only dream of, paving the road for those to come.
The adventurer in this piece started out as something completely different, but ended up morphing into the fierce elf she is today. She backed herself up against the wall so I decided that she needed a companion. This little dragon came to me and begged to assist. They are ready to do battle to continue their quest.

The woman is praying silently before going back on a promise that she made. Her face is hidden. She could be anyone!
What is the book on the table in front of her? Only she knows the answer to that question, but I have a feeling that she will not be using it for the highest good of others.

Hecate is the goddess of crossroads and the Celtic cross is one of her symbols. This is one of her dark priestesses, who looks to be waiting rather impatiently for someone to arrive. I sometimes wonder who it is that she is waiting for.
